Sewer Main Rehabilitation Will Affect Traffic on Main Street

March  13, 2014

March 17 – 20, 2014, Napa Sanitation District will be rehabilitating a sewer main pipeline on Main Street near downtown Napa. This work will close the northbound lane of Main Street between Yount Street and Jackson Street. Northbound traffic will be re-routed to Yajome Street while this work is being done. This detour will be in effect from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm on the work days.

Paving of the affected area will take place the following week of March 24, and additional detours will be in effect. Safety is a high priority, so the District reminds drivers to slow down and watch for construction workers when driving through the construction zone and detours.

This work is part of the Napa Sanitation District’s regular sewer system maintenance program. Regular cleaning, repair and replacement of sewer pipelines keep the sewer operating property, reduce the chance of sanitary sewer overflows, and protect community health and water quality.

Napa Sanitation District (NSD) provides wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal services to the residents and businesses in the City of Napa, Silverado Country Club, the Napa County Airport and several adjacent unincorporated areas. NSD also provides recycled water service to portions of southern Napa County. Covering 20 square miles, NSD has been serving the community since November 1945.
