December  04, 2015

Napa, California – The Napa Sanitation District (NSD) was awarded several honors at the California Environment Water Association (CWEA) Redwood Empire Section’s awards dinner on Friday, November 20th.  NSD was recognized with three regional awards: Medium Sized Plant of the Year, Collection Systems Person of the Year, and Supervisor of the Year.

The Medium Sized Plant of the Year award is given to a plant that is well-managed, maintained, cost-effective, in compliance with all regulations, and innovative.  “It is always rewarding to be recognized for our efforts, but it is even more of an honor when we get recognized by our peers in the wastewater treatment industry. We are very proud of our employees and their outstanding service to our ratepayers, and we are honored to be recognized by the CWEA Redwood Empire Section,” said Plant Manager Jim Keller.

Seth Rossi, Collection System Worker III and Nick Becker, Collection System Supervisor were both honored with individual awards at the banquet.  Seth received the Collection Systems Person of the Year Award, an honor that is given to an employee who demonstrates advanced job skills and operational knowledge, is a team player and makes valuable contributions that benefit the collection system.  Nick Becker received the Supervisor of the Year Award for demonstrating outstanding leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety.  Rossi, Becker, and the Napa Sanitation District will be considered for awards at the 2016 Statewide CWEA Conference in April.
