Night Work Part of Annual Maintenance Program

April  18, 2012

The Napa Sanitation District will perform night maintenance work on sanitary sewer systems in some Napa neighborhoods beginning next week. The work will take place on Silverado Trail and Imola Avenue.

Silverado Trail work times will be:
• From 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday April 23, 2012.

The work will be done in Silverado Trail from Trancas Street to approximately 800 feet south of Hagen Road. During these hours, the southbound lane of Silverado Trail will be closed in the work zone. Travel in both directions will utilize the northbound lane on an alternating basis and will be controlled by flaggers at each end. A flagger will also be posted at the intersection of Silverado Trail and Hagen Road to assist vehicles entering Silverado Trail.

Imola Avenue work times will be:
• From 10:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 through 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24.
• From 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 24 through 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 25, 2012.

The work will be done on Imola Avenue between South Minahen Street and South Coombs Street. During work hours, one eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be closed at different times in the work zone to allow District personnel enough room to perform their work.

No interruption in sewer service will be associated with the proposed work. The work is scheduled during the night hours to minimize traffic impacts. “Caltrans requires that scheduled maintenance work on highways occur during the night time only,” said Todd Herrick, Collection System Manager for NSD. “The District appreciates the community’s patience while we perform this important maintenance work.” The District manages 270 miles of sewer pipeline; about 40% of that is cleaned each year.
